Requirements

Requirements

Operator-facing setup expectations for getting the product into a usable state without turning the page into a dense manual.

Environment Requirements

  • Windows workstation used by administrators who need to search, report on, and export directory state.
  • Active Directory environment with reachable domain controllers for query execution and directory browsing.
  • Designed for operator-led use rather than unattended scheduled execution.

Connectivity Requirements

  • The application does not require internet access, cloud services, or external network dependencies for licensing or runtime use.
  • The workstation must be able to reach the target domain controllers and internal directory services needed for query execution.
  • LDAP is required for directory search, OU browsing, and saved report scope selection.
  • LDAPS is recommended where the environment requires it for secure directory access.
  • Domain Admin privileges are not required. Delegated read/reporting permissions are supported.

Minimum Permissions

  • An account with permission to query the intended organizational units, groups, and user attributes.
  • Rights to browse the directory scope used by the saved reports and report builder.
  • Local permission to install and run the desktop application on the operator workstation.

Recommended Setup

  • Validate domain connectivity and OU scope selection before building recurring saved reports.
  • Start with the built-in starter reports, then duplicate or modify them to fit your environment.
  • Review returned field order and export format expectations before sharing report output with downstream teams.

  4. Step 4

Run the report and review results

Execute the report, review the in-page results grid, and confirm the returned field order and contents match the intended output.

  5. Step 5

Export and save the report for reuse

Export the results to CSV or XLSX, then save the report definition so the same query can be reused later from the Reports page or Saved Reports page.
